Trailhead Location:
On Hwy. 395, 23 miles north of Bishop or 15 miles south of Mammoth Lakes turnoff (Hwy. 203), turn onto Rock Creek Road at Tom's Place. Follow the road for 9 miles, turn left at the Rock Creek Lake sign. The trail head is along the eastern shore of the lake and is marked.

Dates open:
Usually from late June through October, depending on the snow pack.

Type of camp:
Backpack 6 miles on a moderate to a strenuous trail. Highest elevation reached is 11,580 feet.

Permits:
Forest service wilderness permit. No campfires.

Comments:
Purify water, watch for bears and pack out all trash. Good fishing.
