Trail head Location:
On Hwy. 395, 14 miles north of Bishop, turn onto Pine Creek Road. Drive for 6 miles to the pack station where the trail head is located.

Dates open:
Usually from late June through October, depending on the snowpack.

Type of camp:
Backpack 6 miles on a strenuous to very strenuous trail. Highest elevation reached is 11,000 feet.

Permits:
Forest service wilderness permit. No campfires.

Comments:
Purify water, watch for bears and pack out all trash.
